This homestay has been going awesome. We've shared several substantial conversations that have far surpassed the textbook cordialities. This has given me a real look into the character of the San Luis people, and to be honest I'm kind of sad to leave the family on Friday! The classes led by the ex-presidential candidate Ottón Solís has made this insight even richer; we're so lucky to have him guest speak! He's super grass roots, which Lorena and Marco very much appreciate. You'd think Solís had hung the moon when Marco found out he owned and worked on his own farm!
Tomorrow, instead of having our INTB class with Dr. BA, we're visiting a co-op for the afternoon. This is kind of like a bazaar where women of the town come together to sell their crafts and goods, so I'm really excited.
It's been pretty cold and dreary here the past couple of days. It started raining earlier than usual today, before I left for school. Alden, I tried on the "one size fits all" youth-size, bright orange poncho you picked out for me and couldn't do it. The hole for the face maaaybe left room for my nose and eyes. Thanks.
Not much else has been going on here... so I'm opting to fill this with some sewper kewl pixx
