"Hey Moses, bring me the juice."

First of all, Sleez if I hear the blog title come out of your mouth one more time I'm going to pour the "jews" all over you. Second, even though we've had a ton of homework, the weekend's been an ace. Friday night we started with dinner at Rancho de Lelo's, which is a small restaurant at a tilapia farm, owned and operated by my first homestay family's brother's family. Family. Family. They serve three options: fish, pork, or a veg plate. Almost all of us ordered the tilapia, which came out with head and all. Woof! Luckily, it was fresh and delicious enough to not matter. After dinner we all branched out and went to Bar Amigos for some Thumper, bailando, cross-cultural interacting with Holland's finest, and last but not least pre-celebrating the baby Sarah She-she's twentieth and Thao's twenty-first!!! Their actual birthday's tomorrow (Monday), so FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS CHICAS!

Saturday morning Sarah woke up and entertained me with her rollover minutes from the night before. When Sleez finally woke up, the three of us walked to Santa Elena (about a 1.5 hour walk). I finally got some amazing pictures from the Trocha! We had lunch in town and then lucked out by catching a ride back from Sleez' padre. Last night I decided last minute to join the group heading back into town to see Arturo, a naturalist, and his band play at this really cool bar. We really liked this spot because it was one of those inside-outside bars, and it was a gorgeous night. The weather's been much better lately but every afternoon and evening feels like fall, with really clear skies but lots of wind. The star-seeing is like nothing in the US (at least that I've seen before)!

Finally got my own photo! Nicoya Gulf
Coolest story about "Emily"- a gringa who helped build the Trocha.
According to Marco she's a legend and worked harder than the hombres

Today something AMAZING happened! Marcos and Lorena's pig had her babies!! You can ask any one of my roommates-- I have been waiting for this day with bated breath. Kelsey, Leah, Ashley and I walked to Finca La Bella this afternoon to see the lil chanchitas. At first, we were all hesitant about going because of all the homework we have, but I convinced them and they were not disappointed because while we were there the mama pig had ANOTHER piglet! That's right-- we saw a live birth. It was too cool to be gross. He/she was number 11, and Lorena thinks there will be one or two more by the day's end. Her son Arnando was there to help with the process and he picked one up for us to pet. They're so small and sweet! There was only one light pink one who was the first to be born, and the second was the runt. He was teeny tiny and kept doing his own thing like walking around his brothers and sisters to just go stare in the corner. He may end up being "special." I took lots of pigtures with my hamera and will be sure to post them soon! :)
